Ines Karmaoui

FR EN

Ines is a trainee lawyer at Clarity Legal, working under the supervision of Emmanuel Wauters. She is trained in employment law, HR matters and social security law, and also assists on tax matters under the guidance of Gunther Valkenborg.

She holds a Master's degree in European Law from UCLouvain, where her thesis examined how workers and trade unions from non-EU countries can invoke the EU's new due diligence directive to address human rights violations by multinational corporations. During her studies, she took part in the René Cassin international Human Rights moot court competition under the guidance of Prof. Sébastien van Droogenbroeck, receiving the prize for best defence brief, with her team placing third overall.

Before joining Clarity Legal, Ines completed a five-month internship with a judge specialised in tax law. She is currently pursuing a specialised Master's in Social Law at ULB alongside her Bar training.

She is the author of a published novel, and takes an active interest in the firm's intellectual life, contributing to articles, legal commentary and seminars. She is also involved in the firm's participation in the International Labour Law Network (ILLN).

Ines is fluent in French and English, with a working proficiency in Dutch and a basic knowledge of German.
